CAKE FONDANT

Cakes are not mailed due to freshness and their fragile nature.  I can, however, put your photos on a fondant sheet.  Maximum photo size is 8" x 10".  These sheets can be shipped with simple instructions; you can purchase the desired sheet cake locally and apply the fondant photo yourself.  This will enable you to create your own photo cake.  See my Cake Fondant Order Form to order your cake fondant and/or see the About Page for a fondant recipe.

FONDANT RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING YOUR OWN PORTRAIT CAKE.

ALL EDIBLE

Print this sheet for reference. 

1. Keep icing in packaging until ready to use.
2. Make or buy a 1/4 or 1/2 sheet cake with no borders.  Use only Butter cream Icing.  Do NOT use whipped cream icing, it will cause your portrait color to bleed.
3. Let the Butter cream icing to dry to the touch (a little "crust" will form).
4. Take icing sheet from package and carefully peel backing off.  Your hands must be clean and dry.
5. Center icing sheet on cake laying directly on top of cake.
6. With clean and dry hands, smooth out edges, then trim excess from edges with scissors.  The icing sheet cover entire top of a cake.
7. Decorate a border around top of cake with icing using a #21 decorator tip.
8. There is no distinctive taste to the icing sheet.  It is fondant (sugar sheet).
9. Decorate a border around bottom of cake if using a cake board.  #21 tip can be used for this also.
10. Enjoy your masterpiece.
